ACCORDING TO ANSI/ALI ALIS?SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTALLATION AND SERVICE, WIRE ROPES SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY REMOVED FROM SERVICE IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS ARE PRESENT:

  • BROKEN WIRES
  • WEAR OR SCRAPING OF ONE-THIRD THE ORIGINAL DIAMETER OF OUTSIDE INDIVIDUAL WIRES
  • REDUCTION FROM NOMINAL DIAMETER
  • KINKING, CRUSHING, BIDRDCAGING OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE RESULTING IN DISTORTION OF THE WIRE ROPE STRUCTURE
  • EVIDENCE OF ANY HEAT DAMAGE FROM ANY CAUSE
  • CORROSION OF THE ROPE OR END ATTACHMENTS
  • CRACKED, DEFORMED OR WORN END ATTACHMENTS
